A DINING MOMENT IN TIME........
To capture your own dining moment in time--visit LIGHT BISTRO. Over and above our expectations and having heard pros and cons, we entered with open minds and hungry appetites. The versatile menu changes quarterly. as the seasons. making an epicurian delight possible throughout the year. We were served by a professional, knowledgeable and ever so pleasant waiter who introduced himself as Ron and were acknowledged mid meal by one of the owners, Erich. Regretfully, we did not have room for dessert and decided it was worth another 40 mile round trip for a return visit of dining and/or dessert.

spectacular!
My boyfriend and I went on a Saturday night at 7. Our service was exceptional, and the food is downright delicious. We started with the roasted chicken croquettes, which were like little chicken pot pies! He had the ostrich and I had the pork loin with dortmunder carmelized onions. We would recommend it all. We'll definitely go back, this time for an array of tapas. Check their website for events-they have tapas and wine tastings and a pre fixe menu.

Bistro Light's up my life!
Our 1st visit was back in June. I had the 5 appetizer sampling, which in short, just rocked. The crab & shrimp cake with honeydew sauce, the muscovy duck with Asian noodle broth, the cube libra pork belly...the kobi beef on hot stone, and the foie gras took me to heaven and back!It was only $55 and my fiance had the quail which was also cooked to perfection. Service was impeccable, and waiter Levio, really knows how to treat his customers.
The have a really great happy hour.5 domestic beers for $5.00 or 5 specialty beers for $7.50 glass of wine $5 or $10 for bottle (which they will allow you to keep cork, just in case you don't finish & want to take it home with you. yes, it's legal but a lot of people don't know it), specialty drink specials are $3, with $5 select appetizers.
We have been back several times since. I also go to their wine tastings. I have been to at least 6 now! Wow! If you are a wine drinker, go to one of their tastings. They are only $25, tasting a sparkling wine first with at least 4-6 different other wines. They pair them with several different foods...quite a bit I might add. It's done very casually...buffet style on foods, and can go up to the wine vendor and go at own pace of tasting, & getting knowledege too. They don't stop you at one tasting of each wine...can have several, and can order as many bottles to take home as you want.

Just ok.
This was my first time dining at Light Bistro. I went because I have heard several rave reviews. I loved the decor, it is absolutely charming. The walls are covered in interesting art, there are beautiful suede booths, chocolate brown ceilings and exposed brick walls, very Ohio City. The waiter was very professional and attentive. We ordered six dishes, only one, the pear and cabrales flat bread, was really good. I would definitely skip the olives tapas and the corn and mascarpone ravioli. Over all the atmosphere and staff exceeded the food.

BE CAREFUL!
A friend of mine and I dined at the Light Bistro on Saturday evening, May 25. It was my second visit. I was disappointed that they didn't have their tapas menu offered. I was told by my aloof and inept waiter that they had put that on hold in order to perfect their new menu...which is about 75% of their previous one. We departed the restaurant at 9:15, and when I was a mere 8 or 10 steps from the front door, was mugged. My purse was stolen, and my friend and I knocked to the ground. When I spoke with the police, and told them I had been on W.28 just outside Light, their response was "oh there!? We've had so many purse snatchings and muggings there". I called the restaurant to tell them what had happened, and got not so much as an "I'm sorry that happened" or "Are you okay?". The person I spoke with was snippy about it. I told her that given the big problem that they have with crime, they should really look into valet parking, or have a security person outside the front door to survey the patrons coming and going. No response. I asked, "Will you please pass that on to your owner?" and got a short "Sure" and the phone was hung up on me. For what they charge and for the reputation that they are trying to build, they clearly do not care whatsoever for the well-being of their clientele. If you're going to go, expect mediocre (at best) service and be very, very careful as you arrive and depart the restaurant.

Love Light Bistro
The food is yummy, really nice dining space, our waitress was really good, though new. Small bites but definitely adequate and delicious. Try the olive appetizer and do not leave without having the dessert called coffee & doughnuts. Unreal!!

Don't forget to turn out the Light
I was excited to try the new Light Bistro and I have to say, the food was amazing. The service was horrid. We sat down at a 5 top at 730pm and I only ordered an entree that came, at 915! The waiter, void of any personality couldn't even look at the table to see he forgot to serve a drink to one of our guests. He claimed to be an experienced waiter. The rest of the group ordered the market menu that was well thought out but they ran out of the soup (Butternut squash) and served a tomato bisque with shrimp. It was ragu out of a can with frozen shrimp. I had a bottle of wine to sip throughout the wait and made my opinions known to the host who stated, there is no front end manager. It shows. She then tried to explain that all the tables are filled as to why its slow. They wern't turning tables, the patrons were the same group seated when we sat. It's a shame, the food is phenominal, the place will fail because they can't seem to get the basics of service right. I will give it another chance. If you go, hunker down and do try the ostrich!
