Love the place
I have to agree with the other guy that stated that the bad reviews are false. I have been there a few times throughout the last 10 years and love the service and the quality of food. It's a great place to go and relax after a bad week at work. The menu has a great selection that would suite any pallet.

thee best tavern ever
I love the ambiance, the staff, the food. It is like Cheers. Food is so yummy. All the staff is like family, very friendly. Great place, I try to go a couple times a month even though I live far away.

No complaints, its a cool place
I really enjoy this place, we go after our softball games in the summer and sit on the patio and just chill. The food is pretty good, the service isn't always the greatest, but then again we usually bring about 15 people so considering that they do all right. They have good beer specials, too. I've gotten several different menu items, including a chicken wrap, mozz sticks, bbq pulled pork and the fish fry, and haven't had a complaint about any of them.
Ya know, its a small town tavern, a little cob web here or there means nothing.

These other reviews must be confused.
I have lived in the Chesterland Ohio area for ten years and enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service at Chester Tavern (actually called the Chesterland Grille & Tavern) more times than I can recall. In the decade my wife and I have dined there the only experience that we have ever had which was less than expected was on an occasion that we had a waitress who had never served before. Her only shortcoming was a lack of knowledge regarding cocktails. Other than this single incident in almost a decade of patronizing the Chesterland Grille & Tavern we have always enjoyed our visits there. During late spring, summer, and early fall the patio features various local musicians of considerable talent that we have always found to be entertaining. The ownership and management have always been courteous and hospitable which is one of the many aspects of this establishment that keeps us returning. If, like myself you are fond of french onion soup, you will love theirs. I can only read the above reviews and assume that either these two folks are speaking of another establishment or they are the types that are never pleased and simply love to complain. I have never witnessed any of the cleanliness or cuisine issues mentioned in their reviews. I would recommend the Chesterland Grille & Tavern to anyone seeking good food and or great local entertainment, In fact we have plans to dine there once again this evening.

dirty,dirty,dirty!
I ordered food that was advertised on the table as a special it took forever to get the food and when i got it there was stuff stuck on the plate and when i showed the waiter he said the cook must have grabbed a dirty plate. while i was looking around waiting for the food i was noticing how dirty the place was. Spider webs everywere on the lights and cieling and the windows looked like they hadent been cleaned since the smoking ban took effect! WILL NOT BE BACK!!!

Too bad it is so bad
Chester Tavern offers a lovely patio on a warm summer night. To bad the food at best is a D+ and a worst inedible. I sent back the tuna salad sandwich concerned about the potential for food poisoning. I ordered a burger thinking that would be a sure thing. It tasted like the creosote on the inside of a chimney. Completely inedible! The management was quite rude despite our resonable complaints. Completey incredible! The patio will never lure us back.
