a dull 2 out of 5
I cold be mistaken, but I had thought I read on the menu something about "pure Vermont maple syrup" which I was SO excited to have. However...what we were served was NOT Vermont Maple Syrup it seemed to have been a mix of Karo syrup and water. I am someone who eats pancakes often and I have tried many many different types of syrup. This disappeared on the cake as soon as it was poured. It was sweet, yes, but had no maple flavor to it. I hate misrepresentation!!! DOn't say something is something and it is not! that is just as bad as going to a restaurant wanting lobster and getting served plastic wrapped imitation stuff. I ordered a simple pancake plate as did my guest. The pancakes themselves were tasty but a little on the small side. But it was OK. Also they misrepresented the "butter" calling margarine "butter" is not very nice. I guess they think their customers are stupid, and can't taste the difference between quality ingredieants and knock-off stuff. Also, service was pretty slow, but friendly enough. THE COFFEE WAS TERRIBLE!

BOR-RING!!!
as you enter it looks like you're walking down a hospital corridor. the diningroom is a big open room, looks like a basement in a church where they'd serve a pancake breakfast, how appropriate, because the food and service was no better. a dull, uninspired menu, full of breakfast combos, most including pancakes- what they're known for. the one breakfast menu i chose, offered 2 pancakes, 2 eggs and a choice of either 4 strips of bacon or 4 sausage links, i asked if i could have 2 pieces of bacon and 2 sausage links, the waitress let me know that the cook "WON'T DO IT". what a surprise......i've never eaten in a breakfast joint that wouldn't mix it up a bit. service was slow, had to ask for coffee refills EVERY time. the hostess, to keep busy, was cleaning the windows with spray cleaner that perfumed the entire restaurant. why don't they do that before they open or after they close? the appearance of this restaurant on food network made it seem like a very differnt place. this place seems like they're competing with FIRST WATCH, which is a MUCH better restaurant! either eat at home or go to another restaurant, it's just NOT that special.
