Beer lover's dream
Heard about this place from a number of friends who enjy ethnic food so I had to try it. Doesn't seem to be in the best neighborhood but that seems to add to the "ambiance." Great outdoor seating right in front - would be a perfect place to sit and linger over a few drinks with friends. The bar is all about the German beer drinking atmosphere. You feel as though you have been dropped into the middle of a quaint German town! I hope you love beer because the selection is AMAZING! The food was very good- sorry I can't even spell the names of the entrees - both traditional German dishes. I do remember how fantastic the potatoe soup was..could have eaten 2 bowls! Service was great and waitress friendly. Probably the best place for the perfect old-world German experience!

Import Beer, Food, More Beer
Went there recently with my brother and my daughter after the Greater Cleveland New Car Show. Upon entering you are greeted by a 1930's era bar / tavern that has changed little over the years and that's cool with me and brother as we like the nostalgia, importantly it's not a chain and it reminded us of our parents bar from the late 50's. Daughter is 19 and doesn't care either way.
We started off ordering Ayinger Jahrhundert Bier and the Landjager Platter which was just the right amount of serving for three. The smoked sausage was mild and the horseradish good and hot.
I ordered the Geshmorter Schweinsbraten which was good but not something that you relly brag about. The pork slices appeared too uniform and could have been packaged frozen meat, not sure though, but the gravy and dumplings were very good. Brother had Sausage Combination Platter of Bratwurst and Kielbasa which he said was very tasty and fresh and the homefries were a bit oily. Daughter had the potatoe and cheese pierogies that are deep fried which she said were delicious.
The tables are packed in tight and there is little room between diners so walking to and from your table can be a bump and go experience. The place is clean, service was prompt and there was a hardy beer crowd at the bar area having a great time adding to the atmosphere. I would recommend this place as the prices are decent and there are many beer choices to please most everyone.

Best Beer Selection in Town
You park your car on Lorrain Ave. and walk through the door and its like your actually in Deutschland, with out the Nazis. They have the best selection of beer in the area hands down. Around 13 on tap and over 100 bottles from around the world. The prices are VERY fair for the quality of beer, they also have a fee beer club, 50 beers no time limit and your very own beer mug (1/2 litter) and a lovely t-shirt. The food is tip top and goes very well with the beer, I never leave hungry. It's a classy family own restaurant and they treat you as if you were apart of the family. Plus on the way out check out the deli stocked with fine deli meats, chocolate, and liquors. All in all I will be back and back often.

Great Night Out
Everyone wishes for that special place where "...everyone knows your name." Well our first visit to the Der Braumeister seemed like we had been coming here for years. The service was excellent, and all associated with our table made sure that everyone's glasses were always filled, and that everything was the way it should be.
Great service is only part of the night out though, as the actual meal is just as important. Come here with your appetite, because the Der Braumeister values the old world traditions of making sure that no one goes hungry. All plates were taken up by the various entree's. No ones plate had any empty room on it when the meals were served.
The food was as good as anywhere we've ever eaten at, no matter what the price. Price. So many restaurant's try to "snow" the customer with higher prices as opposed to higher quality. The cooks at the Der Braumeister put their money where your mouth is, and make sure that all entree's are cooked to your liking. All within the medium price range.
Along with great food, great service and great prices, the atmosphere is casual, where you feel like staying just a little bit longer, because you are comfortable.
The highest compliment you can pay a restaurant is what our group said, we will definately be coming back.
