Good but stay away from the Steak !
Oysters were great, salad was good and service was very good. I ordered the Prime New York Steak and it was very disappointing. There is no way that it was a Prime piece of beef. It was very tough and very little flavor.

Return to home town
We were there Tuesday night June 30 and the cosmopolitan was EXCELLENT. I had one and Derek got a great tip . I would love to get your recipe for them. Any chance????[please] We really enjoyed our dinner but I REALLY enjoyed the COSMOPOLITAN !!! The cream brulee was perfect even though I had, by that time some wine !!! We wish you were located in Deland!!! Merrie F.

Downtown 140
Downtown 140 is one of the best resturants around. I was very pleased by the food. The selection and the presentation is outstanding. The service is also very calm and not hounding. Many times you get the feeling the waiter is trying to work you for a bigger tip and at the end of the night you dont really remember them serving you which I find relaxing. The atmosphere is also quiet with great lighting. If your looking for a nice quiet night out, this would be your place.

The Best
This is my favorite restaurant in North East Ohio. The staff knows about the food and knows how to serve and the food is impeccably cooked and presented. The menu offers unusual choices and not the kind that most fancy restaurants offer. It's not "tall food." It's the best ingrediants, fresh and not tarted up. I also love the decor, raw stone and some excellent painting on the wall. I highly recommend Downtown 140.

Big city energy
Friends have been telling about this wine bar in Hudson for almost 2 years, and when we finally got a reservations on a Saturday at 7 we were not disappointed. Its a little loud on weekends but if you don't mind the big city energy, the food is worth it. The menu is a tapas style menu but it also has bigger plate items. The tuna tartar is the best quality i have ever seen and tasted. The roasted stuffed dates, that the professional server suggested, was the highlight of the evening. When you eat at downtown 140 you want to order everything, but it can become pricey, so my wife and i go back about once a month and always try different items. On our last visit we ordered a vegetarian dish that was a tart which exploded with spring vegetables and morel mushrooms and was lightened up with a dressed side of local greens. Don't forger try to save room for a desert or two as they are all made in house by their pastry chef.

hidden gem in the burbs
Tucked in the basement of main street in historic hudson is a small wine bar that reminds me of being in new york city. Loud, small, but tons of fun, ton of food to choose from and a extensive wine list to go with everything. Our server was very attentive to detail and picked us a bottle of wine from oregon that was under 50 dollars that had that old world character to it. But if i was going to name this restaurant it would be called "kithchen" because it is all about the food. Very seasonal cuisine in a smaller portion format that after my first time being their my wife and myself could not wait to come back and try more of the creations. With a small open kitchen, on one occasion we had the pleasure of sitting at the chef table and had the chef pick our meal for us. We ate a chicken dish that night that i would never ordered, and could not believe how the chef could have made this locally raised chicken taste so delicious. I just wish it was closer to our home, but we look forward to the drive to hudson to find this hidden gem

thats it?
We took my husband's boss and his wife out for dinner at DT140. I heard so many wonderful things about it! I was looking forward to our dinner. The place is nice but very small. If you dont like small places you will not be comfortable here. I had a soup and everyone else had salad b4 dinner. My soup was D'lish! so I was very excited about what dinner might be. I ordered the Scallops. I probably took only 2 bites. The food was extremely salty to the point that it was not edible. I was embarassed to send my food back but I really should have. My husband ordered the pork chops well done and they came to the table medium rare. The service was just ok. We had reservations for 9pm and didnt get our table until 945. It was nothing special and quite dissapointing. I will probably never go back. I filled out a questionnaire on their web site to let them know about my dining experience. Never heard back from them. We spent over $200 there and was not even close to worth it.

You can't eat the buzz!
This place gets lots of press--most of it very good. My wife and I have dined here three times expecting a lot from Shawn Monday, the former Executive Chef from Hudson's Outstanding Inn at Turner's Mill. On our first visit his wife (Tiffany) who serves as hostess (as she also did at Turner's Mill) was incredibly self important at the reception area declining to greet us instead deciding to hold a mini-conference with two servers first. On another occasion, Miss Tiffany troubled herself to deliver our plates without pleasantness--kinda like "I'm the wife of the Chef and YOU'RE not". It's really a family affair because on our third visit Monday's sister or sister-in-law was our server and brought us a $50 bottle of wine rather than the $35 bottle we ordered. Her skill level suggested that perhaps she had been a server at Bob Evan's before being elevated to her new position. This place promises small plates, not-so-small plates and large plates. It's all just a promise. In our experience small plates means cheese or salad (the cheese plates are EXCELLENT). For truly professional service and fine food slip around the corner to the Inn at Turner's Mill. If you want to instead catch the buzz with the beautiful people and the date couples on their SPECIAL NIGHT OUT come to Downtown 140 or Applebee's if you need a lower price.

Hudson Underground
When you step into the back door (watch your head!)you step back a century - original bricks and wood beam decor. Great wine list, perfect martinis and delicious food. A lot of "regulars" there, and that's a compliment. We walked right in and sat/ate at the bar right after work. It was soon crowded so reservations are probably a good idea. Bring your wallet or a generous friend - it's a little pricey!
