FOOD WAS SPOILED and NOT FRESH!
Took my daughter there. She ate fruit bowl. She got EXTREMELY sick from it. Took her to hospital. I filed a complaint with the Cleveland BBB, and the diner did not even have enough decency to respond to them for a resolution, or even say they were sorry. I will never eat at this place! PLEASE be careful. Its not worth getting food poisoning over!

Great food fast
Last time I was here - I couldn't enjoy the food because the cigarette smoke was so bad - now you can taste the food and boy is it good! Lenten fish special - I had the beer battered perch - my wife had the breaded perch, and pan fried was also available. Both dinners came with soup, salad, and dessert included for the $8.95 price. Soup was hot and tasty (clam chowder) - salad (French dressing) was a little too much dressing - but good. The dinners each had three good sized pieces of Perch - hot, crispy, and tasty with a large side of Macaroni & Cheese (dry, homemade? - could have been better) and we had the rice pudding w/whipped cream - Delicious! Jello was the other choice. Only bad thing was that the soup, salad and entree came out at the same time.

The Best Darn Diner in Town!
Well, how do I even start here. Over the past two years Expressway has become a second home to me. The service is outstanding, the food is great and the coffee is the best in town!
For it being the usual 'Diner' Expressway has a lot to offer; A vast seafood selection, Great Gyros, Huge burgers, home-made soups of the day, a juke box that has just about every song you can imagine! (It connects to the internet and downloads music.), good service, A SMOKING SECTION and it also offers a comfortable setting with your choice between a booth or a table. When you're driving up Memphis Ave. you can't miss the place. It's warming glow of neons off of the chrome exterior walls are what you hope for in a Diner. If that's not enough, come on in to glowing 'diner' car posters, lot of photos of rockstars, including The King and various photos of Cleveland's highlight locations.
Expressway has enough room to fit a large crowd, round tables in the rear for the partiers and decent parking.
The owner's are always there, making sure your food tastes great, making sure the service is up to par and always adding new, fun menu items!
They offer daily specials, including home-made soups and a great seniors menu. They also have a very large full menu.
If you're looking to impress someone it may not be the fanciest place in the world, but it's surely my favorite place to go for a bite to eat and a bit of relaxation!

With its stainless steel curves, neon stripes and checkerboard tiles, the Expressway Diner looks like a set from Back to the Future. This is a real diner - not remembered, revisited or redux. Breakfast is served all day, and the menu goes on for pages. A plate-sized Belgian waffle arrives impeccably crisp and fluffy, battered fish-fry dinners are a value, and the vintage milkshakes and T-bone steaks earn raves. The only deviation from the diner norm comes in the form of Greek specialties: The yogurt-cucumber souvlaki sauce adds a cool, creamy touch to nine sandwich variations in three sizes, plus gyros. Haute it ain't, but good food and attentive service make Expressway a family-friendly, value-priced gem of a place.
