Piece of Cleveland History
From when i was a kid my dad told me stories of this place from the 50s and 60s, and his brother used to go here in the 30s and 40s before it moved to the location on 71st. This was the best pizza ever.
I remember Mama Ray's and Angelo's used to be the best in the old neighborhood, now both are history and i truly miss them. You couldnt beat Mama Ray's sausage sandwiches, and Angelo's pizza.
Sad to see the neighborhood decline, Mama rays behind bullet proof glass and then fold. Then one day driving thru the old neighborhood to my shock the shop of Mr. Angelo blackend and silent.
I don't know the entire story of what happend, but I am sure I can gather details on what other posters have said.
Both are truly missed and the quality of the product will never be duplicated....

PIZZA WORTH THE TRIP
My family and I sincerly miss Angelo's Pizza, I grew up on it probably since I was about 7 or 8 years old living in the Fleet/Union/Broadway Area and introduced my family to it around 1989 and it was by far the best pizza anyone of them have ever had. I moved to Avon Lake in 1996 and would drive to Cleveland on a Friday or Saturday (a couple/few times a month) and take home 3 Large Pizzas(the best) I then relocated to Brunswick in 2005 and would still take the trip or send my spouse on the trip for now 4 large pies and they were ordering a 5th so her and my step daughter could eat one on the way back home, that recipe is very addicting and I cannot wait for the Grand Opening. Please let me know through an email when the ovens will be fired up.

ONE OF A KIND
I KNOW WE DON'T LIVE FOREVER, BUT MR. ANGELO'S PIZZA WILL. I STILL CRAVE IT AND IT MAKES ME SAD TO THINK I WILL NEVER HAVE THAT PIZZA AGAIN. IT WAS THE BEST PIZZA (UNIQUE) I EVER HAD. I HOPE SOMEONE IN THE FAMILY WILL START A BUSINESS AGAIN IT COULD BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE RIGHT NEIGHBORHOOD!

No Pizza will ever come close...
My son loved your Pizza since he was 2yrs old. He always told his Dad he wanted the sweet pizza, and no other pizza would do. He loved the fishy sucker that was taped to the box too. Today is his 14th Birthday , and that's what he wished he could have for his Birthday dinner. I wish I couldv'e made his wish come true. I hope someday someone in the Family will make it again. ANGELO'S is #1...
