The Grinders are where it's at
Fat Billy's is located in a mini strip mall in a store-lot that has housed a pizza place for as long as I can remember. While I've yet to sample the pizza, I have to highly recommend trying a grinder. I had previously thought grinders were simply another name for a "sub sandwich", but according to what I received from Fat Billy's, I was wrong. The Buffalo Chicken Grinder was fantastic. To take a guess, it appeared that a ring of pizza dough, approximately the size of a medium pizza, was folded over the sandwich contents, and run through the conveyer-belt oven. The crust was buttered (possibly with some grated parmesan on top), and the inside cotents of buffalo chicken, lettuce, tomato, onions, etc. were all heated through. While appearing somewhat pricey on the menu, when you open the box, you realize you truly get what you pay for.
Recently I tried a calzone, and they appear to be made the exact same way, only with pizza toppings instead of sandwich fix-ins. However, in my previous calzone experience, they have included both cheese and pizza sauce; those from Fat Billy's are strictly cheese and the toppings you choose. Seeing as I only selected one topping, the calzone was slightly lacking. Now knowing this, though, I can plan accordingly next time I order.
Overall, some solid choices for a bachelor's carryout dinner.
