One Stop Co-Op
I live about a block away from the Cleveland Food Co-op and I purchase about 80% of my groceries there. I absolutely love everything about this place. The mission, the goal, the cause, the food. Sadly, the majority of Case students are too lame or too cheap to shop here. Like Jason said, it's really not that expensive comparatively. My favorite part of the Co-op is the fact that you can get stuff like local honey, organic olive oil, various nut butters, grains, and shampoo all in bulk. Moreover, beyond the wonderful organic and locally grown ingredients, the deli section is awesome! They've always got hot food, soups, and salads that are tasty, unique, and made fresh. I reccommend any of the interesting tofu creations they come up with. Stop giving your money to Giant Eagle and support local organizations!

All the Case kids should shop here
Here's what they say:
We are a cooperative grocery business owned by thousands of household
members who shop at the store. Started in 1968 as a food buying club,
we serve the Cleveland area with natural foods and other quality
products while supporting good health and vitality in the community.
Co-ops are not a new idea. One of the earliest was organized by Benjamin
Franklin in 1752 and still exists today. Nearly 60 million people are
members of 40,000 U.S. cooperatives, each organized to serve the consumewr
by providing quality products and personal service.
Here's what I say:
$30 is no big deal and you can try it out first and just pay an extra 5%. The food is great. The prices seem high but when you compare them to the organic prices at Giant Eagle they are about the same and the food tastes better.
Plus you help support a good cause and receive some karma points.
