My husband and I have been going to Fratellos since we moved here 4 years ago. It was our first official take out dinner. I fell in love with the salad dressing. The dinners are large enough to share and the wine selection is great. I have had the opportunity to talk with one of the owners and he is very nice and know a lot about wines. The interior needs much improvement. But, the wait staff is very proffesional. One of the best in the Cleveland area.

We moved to Avon Lake seven years ago and discovered this small restaurant nestled in a residential area not far from our home. We ordered the Chicken Rollatini, Chicken Fratello and Italian wedding soup. Sides were: 1/2 loaf of ciabatta bread with garlic/herb butter, side salad, and enough pasta for two meals. Loved the buttery-lemon signature sauce and the wedding soup is the best I've tasted at any restaurant. All for $44. The size of the restaurant doesn't matter to us, it's how consistent the food is & how they treat people. We order from there at least once a month and we're never disappointed.

My husband and I love to take out of town guests here to show that Cleveland does have good taste and class. We had a wonderful bottle of red wine from Sonoma County for 30.00 and you could actually taste the richness of the grapes. Fratellos' sauce has a light savory buttery taste and is wonderful with the veal which was good quality. We love the simplistic decore and the atmosphere is real homegrown. The owners are a couple of charming brothers with natural class. You often see them, family members, and friends chatting it up at the bar. A relative jet setter from Israel recommends this place and has returned on his own. We eat out almost every night and you just can't beet Fratellos for price, quality, and ambiance!

I had left over of chicken marsala and spaghetti with red sauce. The waiters assistant, a young woman, stuffs all the left overs into one box. This box is the kind one used to bring fish home from the store. Needless to say, the flavors were comingled and lost. I would have rather boxed the left overs myself. Also, the waiter was very pushy. Always asking if I wanted water. You have a small place. I could have easily asked for help. Finally, the waiter shakes my hand at the end of the meal. Shake my hand!!!! Finally, the atmsophere was cheasy. For the price of the entrees, I don't want to eat of a glass top table.

I'm an east-sider. Had a date with a girl from Avon Lake. Checked out the plugged-in site for much needed restaurant help, and came up a big winner with Fratello's.
The place is certainly not drop dead gorgeous, but it is warm and has a certain charm. And, afterall, it is really about the food, which was top-notch.
I ordered a ceasar salad ($4) and the veal saltinboca ($22, which was the highest priced item on menu). The salad was really good ... fresh romaine, really good croutons and an excellent ceasar dressing and an ample portion. The veal dish was also very good sized and extremely tasty. Definately high quality food. Personally, I found the smokey taste of the italian ham a tad over-powering, but I still enjoyed the dish tremendously. I have an enormous appetite and ended up leaving some of my side pasta and some of my salad, which is unusual for me.
My date ordered a breaded chicken dish with mushrooms and the Fratello sauce, which is light and buttery. I'm not a big chicken fan, but the dish was terrific ... maybe even better than my saltinboca.
Our waiter was a guy probably in his late 50s. He was great. Totally professional and attentive and ready, willing and able to help with menu choices. In fact, the whole staff, as well as the patrons, were really nice and friendly.
If you're looking for high-quality italian food, I highly recommend Fratello's ... even if you have to travel clear across town.

This convertd old Lawsons has zero ambience, zero windows and the bar is part of the dining room. Yes the food is great, but this dining room does not warrent the prices they charge. Should they lower the prices, I will go back.

I have been going here for over 10 years now and it continues to be the best Italian fare in Ohio.
I eat out regularly/daily and noone has come close to Craig and Ron's delightful concotion know as Fratello sauce. The garlic butter is also a staple and there is not a bad offering to be had. Ron also has a knack for compiling a very solid wine list. The staff is experienced and professional the food speaks for itself.

All I can say is WOW. I live in Chicago now and crave Fratello's creamy, buttery and lemony Fratello sauce. I order the same entree everytime. A wonderful portion of half artichoke Fratello and half shrimp Fratello with that heavenly Fratello sauce drizzling all over the plate. I always get a warm welcome from one of the owners Ron and the serving staff. If I get married someday I would pay to have the entire place for an evening of amazing Italian food, wine family & friends.

The outside of the restaurant is very unpretentious. White linen table cloths and perfectly placed flatware lend an air of elegance. The walls are decorated with personal pictures the owners took while in Italy giving it a very warm touch.
The food was fabulous. The house salad is a mix of green and red lettuce, romaine lettuce, olives and onions. It was topped with a honey dijon vinegarette made in house. I normally do not eat salads. But this one even I ate.
Main course was Veal Parmigiano. The veal was extemely tender and the sauce had a beautiful flavor. Of course, the side dish of pasta had to be wrapped up. I could not eat all of eat. I did manage to try the dessert. The owners use a local baker who does all the cakes. I had the oreo cheesecake. It was outstanding.
As I was leaving, Craig (co-owner/chef) greeted me at the door. I gave him my compliments. The meal was fantastic. I highly recommend this place when hungry for Italian.
