Used to love GD... but my last visit...

I used to love the GD. My family and I used to dine there ALL the time. The service has always been great, as the waitresses have always been so fun. Last visit I had there, i was overcharged on A LOT. The prices have gone up A LOT and they try and get every penny out of you they can. They have become very stingy. There arent many combos, and everything is +.50 at least. The waitress was INCREDIBLY rude. She was obviously put off at the time we took to order, the amount we ordered and she made it clear by the eye rolling and yelling to her co-workers in chinese and laughing. She was annoyed everytime she came to the table. She RUSHED us out by bringing boxes and clearing the table SEVERAL times before we were done! We were watched like criminals and she then ADDED HER OWN TIP on our check! She only gave herself 15%, we tip 20%, so she ended up missing out. Will try GD again, because of our long history there. But the last few times have been VERY VERY disappointing.

Rip off!!!

Every time I go to Golden Dragon I feel like they are trying to screw me into things so that they can get money from me. Shrimp chips are $1.50 if you want more than the tiny basket they give. When I asked for a container for soup the waitress said that her boss would not allow her to give a container. The waitress had to sneak out a container and her boss stared at me from across the room to see what what was going on. Then we ordered Hot and Sour soup to go and when we got home it was Wanton Soup. The other time I went to Golden Dragon I ordered a large Hot and Sour soup and that was all I was going to eat and the waitress told me you don't need all that soup you can't eat all that. WTF? Anyway, they try to get as much money from you as they can at Golden Dragon, Yes they have good food but the awkwardness of having to eat there is not worth it. The restaurant is always empty. The service is always rude and the half the time I don't know what I am being charged for.

Best Chinese Food in the Area !

I have been getting lunch at the Golden Dragon for around 10 years now nearly every Friday. I have tried every other Chinese restaurant within reasonable driving distance from work, and they are by far the best. Prices are competitive and their soup is great. They have the best General Tow Chicken in the land! Never had a bad dish there.

BE CAREFUL HOW YOU ORDER

I ordered what I thought was a special on 6-13-11. Sweet & Sour pork combo was on the board in the lobby as a special for $8.95. When I got my check I was charged $10.50 + $.50 for the WonTon Soup which is per the original menu price. When I questioned it at the register I was told I had to specify the "special" when I ordered. When I asked what the difference was I told the special came with WonTon Soup. So in the end because I did not specify the "special" I paid full price + paid an extra $.50 to add soup to something that shoudl have been $8.95 total. I did not win the argument & paid what I was charged out of frustration. The food was wonderful but I left feeling like I was ripped off. My pool rating for service was due to the final bill debate, not that of my waitress.

Love It!!!!!

This is by far the best chinese food in the tri-city area. This is the only chinese we eat now. Very consistent with flavor and service. Highly recommended. I have not eaten in the restaurant, but always looks clean and pleasant. The takeout is fast and always get what we order. My family's favorite chinese place!!!!!

Great Takeout

I've been eating their takeout for years. The food is awesome; one dinner is enough for lunch the next day as well and for less than 10 bucks. I LOVE their egg rolls, so the other review that said they are "nasty" must not know what an egg roll should taste like. Good use of adjectives, by the way. Service is quick for lunch if you want to go out and only have 45 minutes or an hour.

ALOT.................

I went here this past weekend with my cousins and our friend. I never got seated so quick. That is because it was only 1 other party(family of 5) there. I never been to a restauranut so EMPTY. The waitress was so nice and of course the food came fast. I had a strawberry daquiri and it was nasty. It didn't taste right. The food was so good. I had the Shrimp Chow Mein dinner with pork rice. I didn't eat the EGG Drop soup nor the egg roll that came with the meal. My cousins said both the soup and the egg roll was nasty. The food was good though. I got alot of food for just about $9. The non-alcoholic strawberry daquiri was $2.95. You can order for take out. I believe that is what most of their customers do. Overall the food and service was great but the lack of people dining is horrible.
