VERY COZY
The name of this club is a misnomer just like the last review. This intimate club has great blues. The cover is low. The music is great. If you don't get there by 10, you probably will not get a seat but can still enjoy a good show.

A REAL SMOKER
Went to the House of Swing about a month ago to catch a great blues band. We had seen them at a couple other places and really had a good time with the upbeat bluesstyle they have.(Elmstreet Blues) We had to leave after the first set because the smoke was so thick none of us could take it any longer. As we looked around, there was actually NOT ONE person in the joint (no pun) not smoking!!! Seemed like everyone knew each other and the bartenders. Maybe only the regulars hang out there. I mentioned it to people at a few other places since then and the concensus is that the smoke is so overbearing that alot of people won't go there no matter how good the entertainment. Don't the owners know that smoke free would actually be good for business and not bad??? First of all, alot more people would be willing to spend a couple hours there. Secondly, hard core smokers are usually drinkers. They will still come to drink and smoke outside. In N.Y. all bars are smoke free.It has been great for business. The smokers huddle togethr outside to smoke and there is a bit of comeraderie that they share.I know the smoke is bad in alot of places, so I don't want to pick on the House Of Swing. Some ay people will say, "Remember when bars were filled with smoke? How did we ever do that?" Just like we say now about our houses and workplaces. Come on Cleveland, get into the century!!!!

House of cards?
Great place, lotsa fun, but seeing as how it is the year 2005, perhaps its time that they should be introduced to the concept of electronic funds.
Plenty of joints like this take credit cards, to make it easy for people to show up and spend money... why do they make it difficult for patrons to give them money?
Whata wonderful woild it would be, if they would stop doing business like a bar from 100 years ago, and take plastic!
