Not Quite As Good
My wife and I travel about 30-miles each way, and usually go monthly. Without a doubt, it is our favorite Chinese rstaurant. We missed going the past few months because of family matters. And so the ownership change was a shock as I have been going to Hunan's since 1988. I thought the service was very good, no drop-off there. But, even though new ownership is using the same recipes, it is obvious there are different cooks, and our entrees did not taste quite the same. We are bummed as food is the most important part of any review. A small point, but why would the owners hang-up a picture of Kobe Bryant in Cleveland?!?! Hunan's is not in LA, and it is not a sports bar.

Mouth Watering
Born and raised in Cleveland. Moved to So. California in '77. Don't think Hunan's was there? Nephew Mark did take out and was blown away. Won Ton Soup, Kung Pao Chicken, Cashew Shrimp, Pork Fried Rice and Chow Fun with Rice. This was the best chinese dishes ever! Thank you for a great send off Mark!

Hunan Coventry: To the New Exponential
Hello Everyone, my name is Jason "the" representative of the owners for the recently retired owners Mr. TC and his wife "Parody". The rumors of the institution "Hunan Coventry" closing can be put to bed now as it will be open and open for 7 days a week without the interruption of that Monday shutdown that's been there since its inception. That change will be in effect for another another month or so we will let u know. The uncles and aunts working in the back who prepare, hand make the appetizers and prepping of the meats, along with the cooks are still there preparing the food. Give us a call at 216-31-0777.

Just Like Mom's
The chicken corn soup (Tuesday and Friday lunch) is my favorite. The sake salmon, cashew chicken and Happy Family are favorite entrees. The staff is friendly and helpful and their prices are totally fair. Raised on stir fry and rice I continue to enjoy Hunan's.

Say it ain't so.
I'm been enjoying their food since I moved to Clevelad Height in 1986, in their former location in the alley. Some of the same wait staff are there. My 2 to 4 visits per month have decreased since moving to the Youngstown area, but they are still the best. I send all my friends and anybody who ask, without hesitation. I hope they are not closing. I travel a lot, and they are better than anyone I'm had, even the overpriced, upscale ones. When I visit, they know what I will order and drink. Say it ain't so!!!!!

Enjoy The Wait II
I agree that they are pretty slow in serving your food in spite of the fact that it isn't that crowded. Don't get me wrong, the food is pretty good, but I wouldn't recommend going at lunch unless you have a little time to spare.

Enjoy the Wait
It's Friday night, maybe 7:30. This is the second time (and same time) in 6 months we've eaten here. Each time it was not busy, approx 8 tables were filled. And you would think Chinese food is usually ready fast. But we sat for 30 minutes waiting for our food. We were not alone, all 8 tables had to wait very long too. We go out to eat a lot (2-3 x a week) and I've always tipped at least 10 Percent. This was the first time I have ever not left a tip. It was that bad. Egg rolls, sauces, cleanliness, service, ambiance, appetizers, etc. It all sucked big time.
We have been going to Hunan of Lyndhurst, it's closer to us anyway. Plus they have shrimp chips for dipping in the wonton soup. Went there last night and everything was perfect. Thought i'd let you know

The BEST RESTAURANT ON EARTH!!
What else can I say? After dining all over the USA, there is nowhere else I'd rather eat. I've been eating here for years and the staff is attentive and friendly. The food is always perfect and I always leave full. If they did breakfast, a little kung-pao and eggs maybe????

So good I will never get delivery again
The set back is that they don't deliver but what does that matter when the food is so fantastic. We order out a lot in my office and several people order chinese food and get it delivered I love the food here I would rather order carry out from here then get delivery from anywhere else.

Best Food Ever
My favorite, favorite place!! Men, you can't wear sleeveless/t-shirts! My hubby has ruined many attempts at dinner for wearing one. Sick, eat here. Feel good, eat here. Sad, eat here. Reasonable in price and portions. Love it!

One of my favorites!
My favorite thing about this restaurant is that they will cater to you. For the past year or so I have been getting a menu item stripped down to its basics. Specially ordering it every time and receiving it perfetly without any trouble at all.
The atmosphere is formal/casual, with a minor dress code--don't come sloppy from the beach/pool/gym. They always have specials, look on your table and their take out is super speedy!

This Coventry Road anchor has likely played host to any number of first dates and family outings, due in no small part to its location, upscale casual atmosphere and consistently delicious Chinese cuisine. At lunch, diners choose from an abbreviated (though still good-sized) version of the dinner menu; lunch includes soup, choice of steamed or fried rice, and the obligatory fortune cookie. Those dining later in the day can take advantage of the full menu, with plenty of pork, chicken, seafood and beef options - the orange beef, prepared with orange peel and red chile peppers, is sweet, spicy and crisp. Appetizers include such basics as spring rolls and potstickers, as well as interesting departures like scallion pancakes and cold hacked chicken. Hunan's daily specials can hold some surprises: orange roughy prepared with sake, or chicken with macadamia nuts. There is a brief wine list, which tends toward sweeter varieties (the better to enjoy alongside many Chinese dishes), and Chinese beer is also available.
