I used to go to the Inn on Coventry all the time but I moved away for about 10 years. Since being back, I pass it all the time but don't really have any urge to eat there (everything I touched at the table back then always felt sticky!). After reading the review from the mom above, I will never bring my children there!!

I'm a Mom and now a new Grandmother. I have been going to the Inn on Coventry for
over 26 years with my children and now my grandchildren.
The Inn on Coventry is totally Kid friendly. They greet us enthusiastically, speak kindly to the children,
bring them crayons, coloring book pages, and multiple white placemats for them to color
on while waiting for their meals.
The staff is always engaging and patient with my kids and grand kids.
At the end of the meal they often give them a small candy treat and tell them how good
they were.
My children and grandchildren beg to go to the Inn on Coventry where they feel so special
and welcome. Not to mention the ALWAYS DELICIOUS FOOD.
However, while dining at the Inn on Coventry I have observed a few parents who have NOT taught their
children restaurant manners. They let them throw food all over the floor, (and I mean
ALL OVER THE FLOOR), they let them crayon on the table tops, they let them run all over the place
bumping into waiters with hot food, and sometimes they let them scream at the top of their lungs
throughout the meal. The parents have not even batted an eye.
The staff then had a ton of extra work to make the table presentable again.
The staff was always patient and kind.
I personally wanted to go shake the parents.
I love the Inn on Coventry. It has nourished my family for 26 years in a most cheerful and friendly atmosphere.
The food is great, the prices are very low, the atmosphere is homey and cozy. You can tell the staff works very hard to take care of the large crowds of loyal customers that keep returning.
TAKE YOUR CHILDREN TO THE INN ON COVENTRY. They will be welcomed. And they will LOVE it. And get the pancakes!

Interesting menu and maybe this would be an "okay" restaurant if it weren't for the other problems...
As a young family we are always looking for kid friendly places, the Inn on Coventry is not kid friendly. The busboy complained twice to my family about my toddler. First he dropped some goldfish on the floor. Oh My! Other restaurants have stopped me from picking up these toddler accidents, insisting it is their job to pick up the floor but not the Inn on Coventry. Nope, the busboy acted like my little guy was some kind of felon.
Foolishly, we assumed this would be an isolated incident and perhaps the busboy was having an off day. On our next visit the same busboy complained that our toddler crayoned on the table and he didn't want to clean it up. We are not absentee parents, we watch those kids like hawks and for an 18 month old he has exceptional restaurant skills but he is still 18 months so accidents may happen. We apologize and try to fix things. The vast majority of "family"restaurants bend over backward to allievate any worries parents have but not the Inn. This busboy is incredibly rude. I have never been treated like this anywhere.
Also, it is worth pointing out for those of you without children - the place is filthy. We found a hair in our eggs benedict! Disgusting.
So, be warned - no amount of creamy hollandaise sauce is worth the risk! :-)

This quaint Coventry area staple isn't concerned with flashy decor or menu items that will dazzle patrons. Instead, the Inn on Coventry focuses its efforts on preparing familiar dishes that will have you thinking you just rolled out of bed and stumbled downstairs into your mother's kitchen. Breakfast is always a favorite around these parts: Be sure to get in line early, as the small dining room fills up fast most mornings and on weekends. But if you're a late sleeper, you needn't worry - breakfast is served all day. Popular items include the Blues & Shews pancakes, bursting with fresh blueberries and warm cashews. Pair a pair (two will do, as oversized is an understatement) with a cup of hot coffee, and enjoy a perfect start to your day.

The Inn on Conventry, with it's top o'the hill location, makes it ideal for people in the area to stop by for a quick and delicious breakfast before heading into traffic. The Inn includes all of you breakfast favorites and a few unexpected ones. I would recommend the Eggs Benedict, enormously proportioned atop two large and crispy english muffins, and draped in a velvety holandaise. Being a large man, I even had trouble finishing it, but couldn't dare send the plate back unfinished. Also a great way to start a Saturday of shopping.
