Big Tings Gwan at Island Style sen?
I was first introduced to this spot like 19 years ago by a friend that lived on Noble Rd. I have been hooked ever since. I live in Akron and work in downtown Cleveland. I have tried just about every other Jamaican restaurant in Cleveland and no other can compare to Island Style. I particularly love their curry chicken w/ beans and rice and I order a dumpling to go along with it. This is the best curry chicken I have ever had PERIOD. If you can take the heat their jerk chicken wings are the bomb but they are spicy as all get out so be warned. This is possible the best ethnic restaurant in Cleveland!

I got their goat
I have been meaning to try this place forever, but finally had the chance. I had the curry goat (6.95), no rice and peas, double veggies. The goat was excellent-it is great to an an authentic taste in Cleveland-usually every ethnic spice is dumbed down in the Cleve. The veggies were steamed cabbage and carrots-perfectly cooked and seasoned-very good. Both items were piping hot. It is pretty much a takeout place, but they have a tidy little area with tables you can dine in. There is also a little market with Caribbean items...I picked up a bottle of one of my favorite scotch bonnet sauces (grace brand). Service was friendly. If some are worried about the east cleveland address, I would say not to worry, especially during the day. Night is probably fine too, but since I went at lunchtime I cannot comment about later in the evening. Next visit will be braised oxtails, Jerk chicken...or maybe the goat again since it was so good.

The Best "Ting" I've Eaten!!
My friend to me to lunch at Island Style Jamaican Cuisine and the food is absolutely delicious and inexpensive for the level of cuisine you're getting!!! The staff is very friendly, the restaurant is clean and has an island feel to it. I recommend this to everyone. The food is truly authentic and wonderful!! I hope to see this restaurant on FoodNetwork's "Diners,Drive-Ins and Dives." Keep up the awesome job ladies!
